In the dispute over the Corona emergency brake, the FDP wants to bring down the curfew and the contact restrictions on a person outside the household with its complaint before the Federal Constitutional Court.
"The night curfews and general contact restrictions decided by the Union and the SPD are unsuitable measures to combat pandemics," said Deputy FDP parliamentary group leader Stephan Thomae of the newspaper "Augsburger Allgemeine".
Both measures are ineffective and contradictory.
"The available scientific studies show that night curfews do next to nothing to contain the pandemic," said the FDP legal expert before the presentation of his parliamentary group's complaint planned on Tuesday. It is not dangerous to be outside at night, but rather it is dangerous to meet inside, he added.
The FDP parliamentary group also defends itself against contradicting visiting regulations.
"The contact restrictions on one contact person are unsuitable," said Thomae.
