It is also the first time Camilla Läckberg has written her own film script.

Although many of her books have been filmed, she has not previously written the script herself.

- It has been a painful process for me.

When I write novels, I do not have to consider a film budget.

Sometimes when I wrote a scene, Baker said: "great scene but it costs half a million", says Camilla Läckberg with a laugh.

- It is the difference between writing a book and waking up at four in the morning and making a film of it, says the film's director Baker Karim.

Survive through isolation

The movie Glacier takes place in a hotel during a pandemic that has killed half of humanity.

A doctor, played by Lena Endre, and a pastor, played by Alexander Karim, have entered the hotel to survive through isolation.

Camilla Läckberg has worked hard in production, among other things she has jumped in as a script to learn more about film production.

The film's budget is relatively low, as the three founders wanted to share the risk equally from the start.

The main purpose of the production company Bad Flamingo Studios is for them to retain control over their ideas.

Non-respectful attitude

The idea to start a company came when Camilla Läckberg and Alexander Karim met during the filming of Stjärnorna på Slottet 2019. His brother Baker Karim, who directed the film, is already best known for questions about diversity in the film industry.

- It feels like we are different and we are in many ways, but in other ways we are the same.

We have the same non-reverent attitude to things, says Baker Karim with a smile.
