[Well-off China] China Disabled Persons’ Federation: Multi-measures to consolidate and expand the achievements of disabled persons in poverty alleviation

On April 25, the China Disabled Persons’ Federation and the National Bureau of Rural Rejuvenation jointly convened a working conference to consolidate and expand the achievements of disabled persons in poverty alleviation in Zunyi City, Guizhou Province.

As one of the key groups in the fight against poverty, China's impoverished disabled persons have made historic achievements in their fight against poverty.

Statistics show that during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, more than 7 million registered poor disabled persons were lifted out of poverty as scheduled, with an average reduction of more than 1 million per year.

Zhou Changkui, secretary of the party group and chairman of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation, said that it is necessary to promptly include persons with disabilities who are prone to return to poverty and cause poverty into the monitoring scope and assistance mechanism for preventing return to poverty and cause poverty, and establish a follow-up visit mechanism for persons with disabilities, so that the "early detection of disabled persons return to poverty and lead to poverty" "Early intervention, early assistance", further increase employment assistance for disabled persons who have been lifted out of poverty, and continue to promote industrial assistance to disabled families.

At the same time, we will solve the difficult needs of special families such as severely disabled, one family with multiple disabilities, and the elderly to support the disabled, and do a good job in rehabilitation services for the rural disabled, barrier-free renovation of severely disabled families, and nursing care services for the severely disabled.
