The ex-President of Peru, Martín Vizcarra, who was involved in a corona vaccination scandal, claims to have contracted Covid-19.

He and his wife tested positive and had symptoms despite taking precautions, Vizcarra wrote on Twitter on Sunday.

His family isolates itself.

A good week earlier, the South American country's congress had imposed a ten-year ban on the former head of state (2018-2020). The reason was that at the end of last year, as acting president, Vizcarra had, out of turn, been vaccinated against the corona virus with the vaccine from the Chinese manufacturer Sinopharm. This means that the 58-year-old cannot exercise his parliamentary mandate, which he won in the election on April 11th. Almost 500 politicians, officials and officials in Peru are involved in the “Vacuna-Gate” (vaccination gate) scandal. They are said to have pushed their way through the vaccination campaign.

Vizcarra was removed from office by Congress last November for "persistent moral incapacity."

He accused the MPs of slowing down his efforts in the fight against corruption.

Around half of the parliamentarians are under investigation for various offenses.
