Large areas of western U.S. suffer from severe drought

Recently, approximately 75% of the western United States has been in a "severe drought."

In the past few months, many states, including Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah, have experienced the most severe drought since the drought monitor started working in 2000.

The California Department of Water Resources said that this year is the fourth drought in the state on record.

The White House announced the establishment of a working group on the 21st to resolve the increasingly severe drought in the western United States.
