The Osaka Municipal Fire Department says that if transportation is continued for a long time, there is a risk that the lives that can be saved will not be saved.

According to the Osaka Municipal Fire Department's investigation of the transportation status of patients infected with the new coronavirus on the 19th and 20th of this month, it took 24 hours from the time they arrived at the patients to the time when the hospital to accept them was decided and departed. It means that there were 3 cases that exceeded.

In the longest case, it took about 47 hours, nearly two full days.

During that time, the emergency personnel observed the patient's health and waited for the recipient to be decided while inhaling oxygen as needed.

With the spread of the infection, the number of dispatches for patients with the new coronavirus in Osaka City has increased sharply, from 23 cases in the week from March 1 when the infection had settled down to 491 cases and 21 cases last week. It has doubled.

To deal with this situation, the fire department has decided to increase the number of 69 ambulance crews by up to six.
