Judgment in the Mezgin case in Aschaffenburg: murder goes unpunished

The verdict is far more than just a partial victory for the accused.

Because in the main count, Hashem N. was acquitted: The death of his daughter remains unresolved.

"It is not our job to convict someone who may be disagreeable for murder or someone who is most likely to be the murderer," said the presiding judge.

And added: "If that were the case, we would have sentenced him."
