With the announcement “Everyone get on, the train is about to leave”, an 18-year-old and a 13-year-old hijacked an empty tram that was parked on Friday night in Bremen.
At one of the terminus, the teenagers gained access to the train, the older one got behind the wheel.
After a good two kilometers, "Jim Knopf and Lukas" ended the trip on line 10 and fled, the police said on Friday.
Both were arrested shortly afterwards.
"Nobody was injured, it was definitely dangerous," said the police.
Criminal charges were filed for disrupting public operations, trespassing and driving without a driver's license. The 18-year-old was not unknown to the police. The 13-year-old was handed over to the children's youth emergency service.
