Since January, the NGO Médecins Sans Frontières has recorded more than 15 rapes per day in Kananga and the surrounding area.

The number of cases exploded despite the official end of the insurgency of militiamen who claimed to be leader Kamuina Nsapu killed by the army in August 2016. In question, the multiplication of cases of armed robberies.
