On the threshold of their 17 years, few young artists can boast of accumulating such a record.

But this is the case with Wejdene, who in barely a year has gone from shadows to light.

A dazzling success.

This Friday, her birthday, she adds a string to her bow, by presenting her very first collection with the brand SHEIN, of which she is an ambassador.

At the beginning of April,

20 Minutes

had met him during the shooting of these 12 outfits with varied styles, casual or more dressed, just like his sartorial tastes.

Applied, smiling and sure of herself, Wejdene had bowed with pleasure to her long hours of preparation, beauty and photo shoots.

Professional, she had answered our questions between hair retouching and brushstrokes, with such seriousness that one would almost forget her 17 years, just barely.

What does it feel like to become a brand ambassador?

This is the first time this has happened to me so I am still learning in this area.

I'm an ambassador but what really appeals to me is being a photo model for SHEIN as a result.

I pose for my own collection and that's what I like.

Even though it's tiring, I like to pose too much.

Is this collection a mix of what you like to wear?

I gave styles, what I like and what I wear normally.

For example, I really like denim jumpsuits and I asked that there be some in the collection.

What style do you like to wear right now?

What inspires you?

I'm fashionable, I like oversized things.

I'm more inspired by the States, I watch a lot of artists, the one that really inspires me in terms of clothing is Saweetie.

I don't know why she inspires me this chick, I really like how she dresses.

And you know I put on a lot of wigs and I take inspiration from her for that, the cuts, the colors ...

Do you like to change your mind?

Exactly.

Some people think that I don't have the hair underneath even though I have too beautiful hair, but sometimes I like to change my head.

Instead of touching my real hair and killing it I prefer to put on wigs.

Are you a big fashion consumer yourself?

Yes, my money only goes into that!

As soon as I have some, I go on the Internet and order anything and everything.

It's a pleasure but it's also for my image.

As I have specials I have to make sure that people don't always see me with the same clothes, I have to bring something.

As Saweetie inspires me, I tell myself that maybe there are little ones that I inspire too.

And I try not to use too many luxury brands because I don't want to distance myself from the little girls who follow me and who don't necessarily have the means.

I don't like phew, suddenly I dress simply but while following the fashion.

As soon as there is oversize I take.

What image do you like to convey?

As natural as possible.

I'm not talking about my looks because sometimes I wear wigs and things, but it's more about being myself.

Basically, it is not because we are going to say that I am a star that I can no longer do my shopping in my pajamas ...

You have become a public figure in just a few months, and you are receiving compliments but also criticism.

Does it affect you a lot or do you manage to take a step back?

At first yes, but now it doesn't matter to me.

It touched me because I doubted myself, I didn't necessarily have confidence in myself when I was 15 years old.

But in a year a lot of things have happened, I have gained confidence in myself and I no longer look at the reviews.

At first it really touched me, I watched, I was on Twitter and all, I wondered why people told me that ...

Social networks can nurture the cult of beauty, of perfection.

Is it a big pressure for a young woman to always have to control her image?

For a girl just starting out, yes.

I felt pressure when I had to prove things.

It can happen that I post a photo where I am not “wow” then another where I am.

I don't try all the time… We know, well, I don't know how to say, we know I'm beautiful!

Without being narcissistic ... When you're beautiful, you shouldn't do too much with it, you're beautiful and it's good, we know it.

In the song "16" you say you are still a child.

Isn't becoming a role model for many young girls too much to bear sometimes?

The heaviest thing to bear is not to take a wrong step.

What we say in interviews can sometimes be misinterpreted… There are a lot of children who follow me and I'm afraid of disappointing families and parents.

The grown-ups who follow me know what they're doing in their life, they don't need me to tell them what.

Who were your role models when you were younger?

Before it was the singers of R'n'B, Wallen all that… I still listen to it.

There was Zaho too, and Diam's in another register.

Before becoming a singer, did you think about having a collection of clothes one day?

Yes, and I'm thinking about a few things, being an actress too.

Ah yes Rihanna also inspires me a lot in business.

As a business woman she is incredible, suddenly sometimes I want to go out of collections, others to be an actress, makeup artist ...

This collection comes out on your 17th birthday, and many people are obsessed with your age, some even think that you are getting younger… How do you explain that they are so interested in it?

I'm asking you the question again because I don't know!

Maybe because everything that happens to me… (Turns to her makeup artist) What do you think makes people so interested in my age?

Her makeup artist: Do you mean me?

I think you had an exceptional journey at a time when everything was a bit bleak ...

But what does this have to do with my age?

I have the right to be 16 and be successful.

Why don't they believe me?

Everyone talks about it and I find it too overpriced, I don't understand.

Maybe they are fascinated by the fact that you have become famous so suddenly, and so young?

But it can happen to anyone, why are they shocked?

Do these thoughts about your age annoy you?

It gets boring, until I show my passport… After that, I don't care about rumors, it always makes people talk about me, but hey.

So far as to say that I am a liar, no.

How did you experience this rapid success?

I wanted this success, and when it happened I was a little scared at first but then I got used to it and started to learn.

But for a person who did not want it it can be scary.

For example when I went out in the street, I expected that I would be asked for photos, I did not refuse because it made me happy.

But a person who did not want it and to whom it happens, it may scare him to see a bunch of children with phones!

Isn't there the fear that it will stop very quickly too?

Yes, I think that does that to any artist.

For example I had the fear that my reissue would not sell like my album, a fear that everyone can have.

This rapid success, we could say to ourselves that it is magic, but there is still a lot of work behind all that?

Ah yes!

People think it's luck or luck, but I worked for it.

They thought

Anissa

was a parody and a funny music video, whereas for me it was real sound and I wanted it to work.

Some people think it's just luck because of the phrase "you out of sight", but they didn't understand that when I left the studio for

Anissa

, for me I had made the hit.

And in the end, I did.

Then it was "we will see with his next clip if it will take the same"….

And

Coco

caught up with

Anissa

.

People thought it was lucky but they all fell silent afterwards.

Are you still talking about this "you out of my sight"?

Yes all the time !

And that annoys you?

It's good we understood, there are other news and I released a reissue!

You often talk about your mother and your Feuneu manager in your songs, are they people who help you keep your feet on the ground?

Yes, on a daily basis.

I have my family, my sisters ...

Are they warning you?

They don't tell me because I know it, but they're there to remind me that despite living as an artist, I have a family.

As soon as there is a family meal, they call me direct and it's little things like that that remind me that it's not just Wejdene the artist.

That's what keeps me on the ground.

What are your musical projects, are you working on a new album?

No, I'm on a break, I think I've done enough, there was the release of my reissue and now I'm on promotion but afterwards no.

A photo of you with Aya Nakamura had your fans crazy several months ago, is a feat with her planned?

No no we just saw each other like that, we were talking and exchanging stuff but that's it.

Would you like?

(Takes the time to answer) I'm on a break and I prefer to focus on myself.

But is she an artist that you appreciate?

Yeah, she's super strong, yeah.

You collaborated with Jul, will it continue?

If we can yes, I have never refused a feat to Jul!

Humanly, even if it was from a distance, it was too pleasant, he is super nice.

He lives for that, I think you can't find more passionate than him in music.

He's reached such a level but he keeps going, it looks like he wants to prove something when he's doing this for him and he's enjoying it.

What can we wish you for the coming months?

Success and a lot of money.

That's all.

And health !
