Kanagawa Prefecture announced on the 22nd that it was newly confirmed that 58 people, the largest number ever, were infected with the mutated coronavirus.

According to the prefecture, 58 men and women in their teens to 80s living in the prefecture were newly confirmed to be infected with the mutant virus.



All of them were announced as infected this month and were found by government and private screening tests.



Three of these have been identified as mutant viruses found in the United Kingdom, and the remaining 55 are under test, but 12 of the 55 are suspected of being found in the United Kingdom.



Also, of the 58 men in their 40s are hospitalized with moderate illness, 42 are mild or asymptomatic, 6 are under investigation, and the remaining 9 have completed their medical treatment period.



In addition, at a facility announced on the 16th of this month that a mutant virus cluster had occurred for the first time in the prefecture, a new woman in her 80s was found to be a mutant virus.



This confirms that 27 people have been infected with the mutant virus at this facility.



In Kanagawa prefecture, people infected with the mutant virus have been confirmed one after another, bringing the total to 420 people.
