On April 22, the Fire Rescue Detachment Command Center of Turpan, Xinjiang received a police report saying that 8 kilometers from Urumqi to Xiaocaohu through the toll station, due to strong winds, several trucks rolled over and some people were trapped. The center then mobilized Toksun. 2 vehicles and 10 people from Jiulong Road Fire Station went to the scene.
The accident site was located in the 30-mile wind zone in Turpan, and the instantaneous wind force in the wind zone reached level 11 or above.
At the scene, a group of three firefighters braved the strong wind to rescue the trapped vehicles.
In view of the fact that the wind cannot determine the specific location and number of the trapped people, the on-site commander divided the rescuers into two combat teams. The first team searched for the trapped people along the way, determined the number and location of the trapped people, and soothed the emotions of the crew.
The second combat team assisted in guiding the trapped vehicle away from the strong wind core area, reducing wind and sand damage, and delivering food and water to the driver of the trapped vehicle.
The search and rescue operation is still ongoing.
