"The Gau ... The Gau-gau ... The Gauls!"

This cry of alert (and panic) present in most of Asterix's albums and films is that of the pirate Baba.

And this character will be present in the next film of the franchise, currently in preparation.

It is the comedian, actor and TV host Issa Doumbia who will embody it.

Mouss Diouf, a support from the beginnings

"I have the honor to resume the role that Mouss Diouf played, that is to say the pirate, the lookout, who is at the top and who announces each time the arrival of the Gauls", confirms Issa. Doumbia, before imitating the panic inherent in his character, before the pirates find themselves in the water.

Taking over this role has a very special flavor for the comedian.

"It really makes me happy because Mouss Diouf is one of the first people who came to see me on stage, when I was playing in the French theatrical improvisation championship," recalls Issa Doumbia.

"He came to see me with Omar and Fred. Knowing that I'm going to play his part is an honor."

The next film in the Asterix franchise will be signed by actor and director Guillaume Canet.
