The Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay will be held in Ehime Prefecture from the 21st to the 2nd.

In the unusual situation in the history of the Olympic Games, where the relay will be canceled in Matsuyama City due to the spread of the new corona infection, the runners will connect the torch with their own thoughts in mind.

The Tokyo Olympic torch relay is the 14th in Japan and will be taken over by Ehime Prefecture, the last in Shikoku.

On the 21st, the first day of the prefecture, we will depart from Shikokuchuo City, head west, and enter Kumakogen Town through Kamijima Town, which is an island in the Seto Inland Sea.

In the last city of Matsuyama, the relay was canceled due to the spread of the new corona infection, and in Shiroyama Park, 27 runners lined up and an ignition ceremony was held with no spectators to move the torch fire in order.

On the second day, we will head south through Ozu City, which was damaged by the heavy rains in western Japan, and finish at Yawatahama City.

Since infection with the new corona is confirmed every day in the prefecture, the executive committee of the prefecture etc. refrains from supporting the elderly and people with underlying diseases along the road, and the general public also broadcasts online. We urge you to refrain from viewing, moving around cities and towns, and avoid wearing masks, applauding, and crowding.
