The former president of the Constitutional Court of Benin, also a former president of the bar, Robert Dossou, is the lawyer for the two opponents whose candidacy for the presidential election of April 11 had been invalidated.

Reckya Madougou, from the Democrats' party, and the professor of constitutional law Joël Aïvo are believed to be the instigators of the violent clashes between anti-Patrice Talon demonstrators and the police before the election.
