A new private facility has been set up in Sendai City to train drone operators, who are expected to save labor in agricultural work by spraying fertilizer from the air.

This training facility was established by a company that handles air cargo in Minato-ku, Tokyo, with the cooperation of Sendai City, utilizing the facilities of an elementary school in Aoba-ku, Sendai City, which was closed last year.

At the opening ceremony on the 19th, 15 people including the management company and city officials attended, and the instructor gave a demonstration of actually flying the drone.

The drone can be used for spraying pesticides and fertilizers in rice fields, surveying at construction sites, etc. On the 19th, water was poured into the tank installed in the drone and sprayed.

According to Miyagi Prefecture, about 70% of the people engaged in private farming in the prefecture were elderly people aged 65 and over last year, and Sendai City acquired the knowledge and skills of maneuvering at this facility, which led to the efficiency of agricultural work. I'm hoping to get it.

Hiroki Ito, managing director of "Air Tribune," which operates a training facility, said, "I want to develop young successors to agriculture who can utilize drones."

The lessons are held every weekday for 5 days from Monday, and after learning through lectures and practical skills, the test will be conducted on the final day.
