[Explanation] On April 18th, more than a hundred experts and scholars from dozens of archaeological research institutes across the country gathered in Mianchi, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province to participate in the launching ceremony of a series of activities to commemorate the "100 Years of Chinese Archaeology" and a symposium between the Yangshao Village Ruins and the Centennial of Chinese Archaeology meeting.
[Explanation] The Yangshao Village site, known as the "Holy Archeological Site in China", is an important site in the core distribution area of Yangshao Culture in the Yellow River Basin. Its discovery opened the curtain of field archaeology in China.
The "A Century of Chinese Archaeology" series of activities kicked off in Yangshao Village, which is of special significance.

The first excavation of the site of Yangshao Village in Mianchi, Henan Province in 1921 marked the birth of Chinese archaeology.
The first archeological culture in China, the Yangshao culture got its name.
[Explanation] It is understood that the Yangshao culture is an important Neolithic colored pottery culture in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, created by the ancestors of the Chinese nationality.
Archeology believes that the concept of "Hua" in the word "Hua Xia" should come from the Yangshao culture.
According to the legends recorded in the literature, the ancient ancestors of the Han people generally took the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River from Longshan in the west to Mount Tai in the east as the active area.
The two types of Neolithic cultures, Yangshao Culture and Longshan Culture, mainly distributed in this area, are generally considered to be the cultural relics of the ancient ancestors of the Han nationality.

According to statistics, Sanmenxia City has more than 600 Yangshao cultural sites, with an average of 17.5 square kilometers. There is one Yangshao cultural site with the widest distribution density, which is the highest in the country.
[Explanation] Zeng Deya, executive deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Henan Provincial Party Committee, stated in his speech that Henan is the most well-preserved region in the Chinese civilization pedigree and the core region for the formation and development of the Chinese civilization.
So far, 49 achievements in Henan have been selected as the "Top Ten Archaeology in the Country".

[Explanation] In the afternoon, experts and scholars from the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and many cultural institutions and scientific research institutions across the country visited the Yangshao Village Ruins Park and the archaeological excavation site.
With their thoughts and thoughts after viewing, they expressed their opinions at the symposium on themes such as the archaeological excavation of the Yangshao Village site, the Yangshao Village site, the Yangshao culture and the century of Chinese archaeology.
