An American woman was surprised that she had her second child pregnant while undergoing ultrasound examinations to check on her first fetus, in which she was pregnant 3 months ago.
According to CNN, the mother named Rebecca Roberts (39 years) went with her husband, Reyes Weaver (43 years) to the hospital to check on the health of their fetus, who had tried to conceive for more than a year.
While Rebecca was undergoing an ultrasound, she was surprised by the doctor telling her that she was pregnant with another fetus in the ninth week, while she was carrying her first fetus 12 weeks ago.
"I got pregnant already," said Rebecca, "and for me this was totally insane ... because it wasn't supposed to happen."
Pregnancy during pregnancy is so rare that one of the studies conducted in 2008 found fewer than 10 cases recorded in the world.
Rebecca explained that the doctors told her that the babies were actually three weeks pregnant.
"I couldn't believe it happened to me," she added, laughing.
