This Wednesday, Joe Biden must formalize the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan by September 11, a symbolic date.

This is a four-month postponement of the initial date decided by the Trump administration when the historic agreement was signed in Doha with the Taliban in February 2020. There are currently 2,500 soldiers, against 100,000 at the height of their presence in 2010-2011.

Why such a decision ?
