Former child star Macaulay Culkin (40), who became famous in the 90s with films like "Kevin - Alone at Home" and "Kevin - Alone in New York", has become a father.

It is the first child for the actor and his partner and colleague Brenda Song (33, "Hotel Zack & Cody").

"We are overjoyed," quoted the US magazine "Esquire" on Monday from a message from the couple.

According to this, son Dakota Song Culkin was born on April 5 in Los Angeles.

Culkin and Song met while filming the film "Changeland" (2019).

The child is named after Culkin's sister Dakota, who died in a traffic accident in 2008 when she was 29.

The Culkin family has seven siblings, including actors Kieran and Rory.

After his early success in Hollywood, the child star struggled with family problems.

The parents engaged in a bitter custody battle, and Culkin later denied them access to his money.

At the age of 20, he separated from actress Rachel Miner after a short marriage.
