The online media FranceSoir will retain its status as a site for "political and general information", after proof has been provided of the presence of permanent journalists.

The National Union of Journalists (SNJ) denounced in a press release the renewal of this approval issued by the Ministry of Culture.

The online media FranceSoir, accused for several months of relaying conspiratorial theses, retains its status as a site of "political and general information".

"Proof was provided of the presence of two permanent journalists and four freelancers" and "the other conditions provided for the recognition of the online press service" were deemed to be met, explained the Ministry of Culture.

FranceSoir can receive aid to the press

The National Union of Journalists (SNJ) denounced in a press release the renewal of this approval, pointing to the fact that FranceSoir could "continue to receive aid to the press" and to disseminate "false information".

The status of "political and general information" site allows FranceSoir to benefit from tax advantages and public aid from the State.

For the moment, he has not made the request, indicates the ministry.

This "formulates proposals for legislative and regulatory changes to strengthen the requirement of journalistic treatment to access press aid", and these "are examined with the greatest attention", concludes the ministry.
