Normandy is popular.
Three villages in this region are in the top 5 of the ranking of "towns and villages where one lives the best in France", reports the
Journal du Dimanche
.
Regarding villages of less than 2,000 inhabitants, Epron (in 3rd position) and Authie (5th position), in Calvados, as well as Martinvast (Manche) (4th), are at the top of this ranking.
The villages of Peltre (Moselle) and Guéthary (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) complete this top.
Elected elected officials
The mayor of Epron welcomes this award.
“Since 2001, we have been working to be more attractive, with services worthy of larger municipalities such as a nursery or nursing home, pleasant green spaces,” indicated the elected representative to
Liberté Caen
.
We are also developing a residential course, because there is a strong demand from our fellow citizens to stay on Epron.
"
The mayor of Authie underlines for his part that the town has "tried to have a balanced development, both for the school and for the buildings".
The town also benefits from "proximity" to the sea, located just over fifteen kilometers away.
Other towns with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants in the region appear in the top 100 places in the ranking.
This is the case for Nouainville (Manche, 21st), Cambes-en-Plaine (Calvados, 27th), Cagny (Calvados, 53rd) and Saint-Arnoult (Calvados, 88th).
For its part, Caen ranks sixth in the list of cities with more than 20,000 inhabitants.
