People over 55 eligible for vaccination in France

All French people aged 55 and over are eligible for vaccination from Monday with AstraZeneca, as the Minister of the Interior Olivier Véran announced on Sunday.

To speed up vaccination, the injection interval for the 2nd dose will also be extended for Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, currently reserved for people over 70 years of age or people with co-morbidities.

The French will also soon be able to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, delivered to France from Monday and offered, "for consistency and concern for efficiency, to all over 55, without conditions".

The serum, unlike other vaccines previously available, is administered in a single dose.

Will the children be vaccinated?

Will the gradual expansion of the population categories accessible to the vaccine soon reach children?

The question arises, acknowledged the Minister Delegate for Industry, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Sunday on Europe 1. "It is a scenario which is on the table", she indicated, specifying however that no dedicated serum was not yet available.

"They are the subject of specific clinical trials, and specific validations. It's even stricter than adults."

Self-tests (theoretically) available in pharmacies

Self-tests, which allow you to check yourself if you are positive for the disease, thanks to a ready-to-use kit, are officially authorized for sale in pharmacies in France from this Monday, as demanded by many professionals from health.

But in reality, few pharmacies will be able to offer these self-tests for sale, because very few have been able to obtain stocks.

Professionals also deplore the absence of a legal framework, in particular on the selling price, as the president of the Île-de-France pharmacists' order explained to Europe 1.

"There have never been more than six people at the table," he said.
