[Explanation] On April 9, the 2021 meeting of the party committee secretaries of the four border provinces in Guangxi, China and Vietnam was held in a video connection. All parties are strengthening joint epidemic prevention and control, medical and health cooperation, and strengthening infrastructure interconnection and economic and trade cooperation. Under the background of normalization of epidemic prevention and control, the party committee secretaries of the four border provinces of Guangxi and Vietnam will advance friendly and practical cooperation in the form of cloud meetings. It fully embodies the firm determination to cooperate and will effectively promote the peaceful and stable development of border areas.
[Explanation] Lu Xinshe introduced that since 2020, the four border provinces of Guangxi and Vietnam have promoted the establishment of a cross-border epidemic prevention and control communication and coordination mechanism, and jointly strengthened border and port control, and no cross-border spread of the epidemic has occurred.
In terms of economic and trade cooperation, with the timely recovery of mutual trade business, the normalization of Sino-Vietnamese cross-border trains, the official opening of the second bridge of Beilun River between China and Vietnam, the extension of customs clearance time at the ports of Friendship, Friendship, Dongxing and Mangjie, and the continuous improvement of customs clearance efficiency. Vietnam's import and export trade volume maintained positive growth last year, and Vietnam has become Guangxi's largest trading partner for 22 consecutive years.
