Ms. Basad, why are you changing the title on your book cover?

Personally, I would have liked the generic masculine “ideologue” better because it includes all genders, including transsexuals.

To speak of “ideologues” was a publisher's decision, I guess so that the title would also appeal to other people than just those who radically reject gender.

The gendered form has actually caused a lot of displeasure on Twitter, because many people are so against gendering that they cannot even bear the fact that a feminine form can still be seen on the cover.

That already shows how hardened the fronts are.

There was no left criticism?

Basad:

Yes, of course, there was also the usual criticism from people who

labeled

me as right-wing conservative without having read the book.

But that comes almost automatically when you criticize identity-political activism.

Why is that?
