From April 10th, the maximum speed of the Xiamen-Shenzhen high-speed rail will be increased from the current 200 kilometers to 250 kilometers per hour, which is also the highest design speed of the Xiamen-Shenzhen high-speed rail.

The Xiamen-Shenzhen high-speed railway opened in 2013, connecting important coastal cities such as Xiamen, Chaozhou, Shantou, and Shenzhen, with a total length of 514 kilometers.

At present, the shortest EMU train time between Xiamen and Shenzhen is 3 hours and 19 minutes. After the speed is reached, the fastest travel time between the two places will be shortened to 2.5 hours.

China Railway Group stated that it will add 7 pairs of Shenzhen-Xiamen express trains, and arrange 3 pairs of high-quality cross-line intercity trains from Chaoshan area to Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

In addition, the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail and the Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed rail have taken the lead in launching time-counting tickets and regular tickets.

After this adjustment, the Xiamen-Shenzhen high-speed rail and the Nan-Guang high-speed rail will also simultaneously launch new ticketing products such as ticket counting.

Open more direct inter-bureau bulk cargo trains

In terms of freight trains, after the high-speed rail network was established, a large amount of ordinary rail transportation capacity was released.

China National Railway Group stated that in order to make full use of this part of the transportation capacity, and in conjunction with the transportation volume of “road to rail” and the need for flood prevention, the current map adjustment has optimized and adjusted the structure of passenger and freight trains.

After the map adjustment, 294 inter-bureau bulk cargo direct trains will be opened, and more than 200 cargo trains will be added to the major coal transportation corridors such as Tanghu, Haoji, and Wari.

In addition, the National Railway Group will further optimize the China-Europe train operation plan, expand the scale of the new land-sea route, improve the quality and efficiency of train operation, and ensure the stability and smooth flow of the international supply chain.
