According to its own information, the US drug agency FDA has not yet found any evidence of a causal connection between vaccinations with the corona vaccine from Johnson & Johnson and blood clots.

The investigations into cases of blood clots continued, the FDA said on Friday (local time).

So far, "a few" cases have become known in which patients have suffered blood clots and a decline in blood platelets after vaccination with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

"Both can have many different causes," said the drug agency.

The public will be informed as soon as new information is available.

The EU Medicines Agency EMA had previously reported four cases of thrombosis after vaccination with Johnson & Johnson, one of which was fatal.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine was approved in the EU in mid-March, but, unlike in the USA, is not yet in use there.

The EU Commission assumes that the active ingredient will be delivered from April 19.

A total of 55 million cans are to be delivered in the second quarter.

In contrast to the other vaccines, only one injection syringe is required for comprehensive protection.
