At 8:52 on April 6, a fire broke out in the Tongluowan Commercial Plaza in Guichi District, Chizhou City, and the fire was extinguished at 11:09.
Preliminary inspections revealed that the area covered by the fire was about 400 square meters. The preliminary cause of the accident was that combustible materials were ignited when the escalator in the mall was cut by gas welding.
The accident caused 4 deaths and 2 injuries.
After the fire was extinguished, the local urgently held a special meeting to set up a "4.6" fire accident handling work leading group.
