Almost six months after the alleged Islamist murder of a French history teacher, a mosque near Paris is allowed to reopen on Friday.

The church has a new management and a new imam, said the prefecture of the Seine-Saint-Denis administrative district on Wednesday.

The mosque in the northern Paris suburb of Pantin had shared a hate video against teacher Samuel Paty on Facebook.

France's Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin accused the Imam of the Pantin Mosque of threatening the victim and publishing the address of his school.

The mosque with around 1,300 believers had to close temporarily after the murder.

More than 70 other French mosques were also checked.

History teacher Paty was beheaded by an 18-year-old Russian of Chechen origin near his school in a western Parisian suburb in mid-October.

The educator and his students had discussed the topic of freedom of expression in the classroom and used Mohammed caricatures for this.

The attacker was shot dead by the police after the crime.
