On the 6th, officials from eight taxi companies that undertake the delivery of vaccines and city officials who board the taxi gathered at the Beppu City Health Center to confirm precautions when carrying the vaccine by car.
The vaccine was supposed to be carried in a special ice pack, and on the 6th, discussions were held on how to stack the vaccine so that it would not shake or fall over.
Takumi Yamaguchi, chairman of the Beppu City Taxi Association, said, "Because it is a vaccine that citizens have been waiting for, I want to treat it with the same feeling as when carrying people."
