Mask scandal, slow pace of vaccination and constant back and forth with lockdown and relaxation: In German pandemic management, some things are not going as they might possibly be.

Now YouTuber Rezo joins the ranks of the critics and "destroys" the corona policy of the federal and state governments in a current video.

In his 13-minute monologue, he talks himself into a rage.

In Rezo's world, only Union politicians seem to be responsible for the poor handling of the crisis - in any case, the 28-year-old only attacks top staff from the CDU and CSU directly.

The clip, which Rezo published on YouTube in the early evening on Easter Monday, had been viewed around 125,000 times by early Tuesday morning.

It is an excerpt from a live stream on the Twitch video portal, which is mainly used to broadcast video games.

Rezo talks about the live documentary by entertainers Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, who had shown the everyday life of a nurse at Münster University Hospital for hours on ProSieben under the motto “#not self-evident”.

The medical staff is "right, right, really screwed" if the number of corona infections continues to rise, says Rezo.

And then the blue-haired YouTuber, who in 2019 became known to a broader masses with his "Destruction of the CDU", strikes all round.

In the beginning, the vast majority of people would have accepted that restrictions were necessary in order to get through the Corona crisis together.

“Not so great”, however, was that from the beginning “a concrete medium to long-term goal from politics was never set”.

Instead, short-term strategies have been tried again and again and thrown overboard - from lockdown to easing to the next lockdown.

At least that's how Rezo perceived it.

Mask requirement came "much too late" for Rezo

He is also convinced that the mask requirement in Germany was “much too late”.

Scientists had said early on that masks would "totally slow everything down, would ensure that the economy had to suffer a lot less, would ensure that a lot fewer people died," recalls Rezo.

Politicians have not reacted to this for too long.

Instead, he praises himself, there was a “mask requirement” initiative, in which he got involved.

He and other celebrities have shown more commitment to the mask requirement “in their free time” than the federal government “with huge resources of manpower”.

The next point in Rezo's “Destruction”: the corruption affairs in the corona crisis.

“You can't even notice them all because there are so many cases of corruption,” the YouTuber exclaims.

Rezo cites the Alfred Sauter (CSU) case as an example.

The former Bavarian Minister of Justice is suspected of corruption in mask business and is said to have pushed for rapid approval in a corona rapid test.

Sauter worked as a lawyer for the manufacturer of the tests.

For Rezo the case is clear: These are "straight up corrupt politicians who exploit the political system to put money into their own pockets so as not to decide according to the interests of the population".

Rezo is also working on Federal Interior Minister Horst Seehofer (CSU).

Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) had appealed that he should be vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine.

But Seehofer did not want to - he did not want to be "patronized", he let it be known.

Seehofer's right not to be vaccinated, says Rezo.

But he can do little with the reason.

So little that he gets rude: “Dude, is he stupid?

Is that shitty in the head? ”To refuse the vaccination on principle because someone else tells you, don't be childish or stupid during a global pandemic -“ Such behavior is simply misanthropic ”.

Rezo then accuses politicians of “refusing to work”.

Rezo mentions Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) as an example.

At the end of March, he appealed to people to take responsibility because of the increasing number of cases.

Not enough for Rezo.

He draws a comparison: When it comes to road traffic, the state does not trust in the individual responsibility of the citizens, but there are state rules.

And that must also exist in the pandemic.

It is the job of politicians to direct.

"And if you don't, then you're not doing your job."

Rezo has also identified one reason for this “refusal to work”: He believes that politicians may be concerned that they are doing something wrong.

And if they don't decide, they couldn't do anything wrong in the first place.

There is a “bunch of incompetent Dullis” in responsible positions, Rezo draws an interim conclusion.

The YouTuber also claims to have identified the "most blatant" problem in corona management: the "hostility to science".

In politics there is “a fundamental attitude to behave irrationally”.

Rezo again refers to Kretschmer, who said in December: “We underestimated the virus - all of us.” - “No, Michael.

You underestimated the virus, ”Rezo countered the Saxon head of government.

And Rezo takes on another CDU man: Hesse’s Prime Minister Volker Bouffier.

At the end of March he said: “Anyone who claims that you should have known everything eight weeks ago - I don't want to deal with that.” On the contrary, Bouffier was supposed to be talking to the people who told him eight weeks ago have what comes, because: "They knew better," says Rezo.

What Bouffier said, says the YouTuber, is "disrespectful" to the population.

Failure to act in a crisis is "the worst"

Finally, Rezo shows a video from CDU boss Armin Laschet.

The North Rhine-Westphalian Prime Minister said in March in the Düsseldorf state parliament: “We all had the hope, from the experience of last year, that when spring comes it will be warmer, the virus infection will decrease and the numbers will decrease.

We're experiencing exactly the opposite at the moment. ”Rezo almost freaks out in front of the camera after hearing Laschet's words again.

Nobody had this hope, he says.

The modeling would have clearly shown in which direction the numbers would go.

“This is a person who wants to become chancellor,” shouts Rezo while sitting in front of his screen.

"It hurts physically how stupid it is."

In politics, Rezo summarizes, there is a “deep-seated disrespect for scientific knowledge”.

Failure to act, to which politicians are currently withdrawing from his point of view, is "the worst" in a crisis.
