We leave for the center of Afghanistan, in Daykundi, a province of Hazarajat, the historical territory of the Hazaras who are mainly Shiites, and who represent between 10 and 20% of the 38 million inhabitants in Afghanistan.
Daykundi province is rural, isolated, and one of the poorest in the country.
She is renowned for her openness specific to the Hazaras in Afghanistan.
A woman was recently appointed governor of the province.
Another unique fact in the country, a woman is at the head of the Provincial Council.
Publicity
While the peace talks started in September 2020 are stalling, in Daykundi there is concern about a return to power of the Taliban who have been trying for two years in this peaceful province.
Many farmers want to take up arms themselves to defend themselves.
But, the government in Kabul does not respond to their calls fearing that the Shiite militias take too much power.
