China News Service, Nanjing, April 6 (Yang Yanci) According to news from the Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on the 6th, Saturn and Jupiter will "encount" a waning moon on the morning of the 7th, bringing an interesting performance of "Double Stars with the Moon".

Interestingly, the three will form a "smiling face with crooked mouth" in the sky.

At around 5 o'clock in the morning on the 7th, you can enjoy the "Double Stars with Moon" astronomical phenomenon in the southeast.

Accompanying the rising of a crescent moon are two visible gas giant planets in the solar system-Saturn and Jupiter.

This double moon companion also opened the prelude to the observation of Saturn and Jupiter in 2021.

According to astronomy experts, since Saturn and Jupiter just experienced a conjunct in January this year, the two planets were submerged in the sun's radiance in the first three months.

Since April, observation conditions have continued to improve.

In the low sky before sunrise, the public can gradually find their tracks.

Saturn and Jupiter conjoin the moon at 16:00 on the 6th and 15:00 on the 7th.

From the time point of view, the early morning of the 7th is the best time to appreciate the "double stars with the moon", when the angular distance between the three celestial bodies is relatively close.

On the "smiley face" formed by a crescent moon, Saturn and Jupiter will form two piercing "eyes".

Seen from the earth, Saturn and Jupiter appear to be "big and small" due to their different sizes and positions.

Taking Beijing as an example, the sunrise time of the day is 5:50, and the last of the three "protagonists" is the moon.

At that time, the moon, Saturn, and Jupiter were brighter due to the high level of the horizon, and they were very easy to find in the southeast.

In Nanjing, Jupiter will rise at 3:23 on April 7, and the sun will rise at 5:46, so you can watch for a longer time.

Interested astronomy enthusiasts can get up early and "smile" with the stars.

In most parts of China, as long as the weather is fine and the sky has not yet become white, interested members of the public can face the southeast low altitude and try to find interesting "smiling faces with crooked mouths" with naked eyes or with binoculars.
