In the video, a dog is tortured to death in Egypt
Social media circulated a video clip showing the torture of a dog to death by a person in the Mokattam area in Cairo.
The footage showed a person severely torturing a stray dog, and hanging it by a rope until he died.
The Egyptian security forces arrested the accused, after submitting a communication from the head of an animal welfare association against the perpetrator.
For its part, the Egyptian newspaper "Al-Youm Al-Sabea" said that the man was a real estate guard located in the Mokattam area, adding that the accused had admitted committing the incident as indicated.

Last week, social media users reported the incident of people beating street dogs in the area of the railway settlement in Aswan, south of Cairo.
Eyewitnesses said about the incident that occurred late last month, that some people attacked dogs with chains, stones, ax and tattoos, and also killed dogs born from days ago to get rid of them, and when some young men tried to intervene to stop them, they attacked them and prevented them by force.
The incident angered the pioneers of social media, especially animal rights activists and animal welfare groups, who expressed their displeasure with the incident, demanding that the perpetrators be held accountable so that it does not happen again.
