When an NPO in Tokyo, which responds to consultations for people suffering from unexpected pregnancy, analyzed more than 2,900 consultations, consultations from teens and 20s accounted for more than 70%.

We found that the background was lack of knowledge about contraception and pregnancy and the difficulty of establishing an equal relationship with a partner.

NPO "Piccolale", which is in Tokyo as "Ninshin SOS Tokyo" and offers consultations on unexpected pregnancy by phone or e-mail, analyzed the consultations received during the four years until the adulthood.

According to this, 76.5% of the 2919 consultations were from teens and 20s.

Among them, there were many cases of lack of knowledge about contraception and pregnancy, such as 172 consultations about pregnancy even though they were not sexually active, and consultations that the other party was uncooperative with contraception. There were 137 cases, and it was difficult to establish an equal relationship with the partner.

In addition, among the counselors in their teens and 20s, there are 77 cases of counseling after the 22nd week of pregnancy when abortion is not recognized, and they are in financial distress or have complicated relationships such as abuse. The tendency was strong.

Kiyomi Matsushita, director of NPO "Piccolale", said, "I feel the need for comprehensive sex education that values not only the method of contraception but also the mind and body of oneself and the other person. I want to create a society where people can create a society. "
