Sotheby's introduces, through this exhibition, the concept of private sale outside the scope of auction, as it allows collectors to obtain these works directly from the showroom.

This exhibition is considered the first private sale exhibition organized by the house in the region with the aim of presenting art in a wider and more comprehensive manner to collectors and those looking for rare and valuable works.

Sotheby's Marketing Director May Al Deeb told Emirates Today: “We put forward the idea (after the auction), which is about direct and private sale, far from the auction hall or even auctions that organize (online),” and the exhibition includes A work by the artist Aboudia, and two works by Ziad Antar, who presents his photographic works that he had taken with a camera, in which he placed a film that he bought from Sidon, and later found that the film was expired.

Al-Deeb explained that the art market is still strong, and the auctions that were held "online" are very successful. That is why this idea was launched in Dubai, as it is a new philosophy in marketing, and it will meet success in Dubai, noting that in this section devoted to private sale the paintings in Emirates, with the aim of avoiding any difficulties that may face the shipping process due to the current circumstances.

Al-Deeb indicated that this section dedicated to direct sale will carry a collection of contemporary and modern works, in addition to rare paintings, including the work of the artist Paul Guiragossian, Hussein Madi, and Pepe Zoghbi.

Al-Deeb pointed out that the private sale of paintings is still open for testing in the local market, expressing her optimism about the art market movement in the UAE and the region, especially that the auctions are still operating in a distinct manner, and that the auctions that are organized «online» are still garnering a lot of global attention from collectors.

Jewelery specialist Sophia Stephens explained to "Emirates Today" that the group that was presented for direct sale includes many distinguished pieces in rare stones, including the ring, which is considered the highest in price and has a price of $ 152,000. It is a distinct piece and carries a diamond stone in the middle. Its color and high purity.

Stevens emphasized that the private sale carries a lot of rare women's and men's watches, but it is distinguished by being based on reasonable and acceptable prices to reach high prices with rare pieces, with the aim of making the acquisition philosophy available to the largest possible segment of society.
