The filming of the world famous American series "Friends" stopped 17 years ago.

But the cast of the series will start filming next week on a special that should thrill fans.

David Schwimmer gave some indications on this show which could be quite different from the series.

"Friends", the American series with legendary credits and many fans around the world, stopped 17 years ago.

But it should make its comeback soon, in a format probably very far from what viewers have been used to since the end of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s. Several times postponed because of the Covid-19, the filming of a special with the cast will finally begin next week.

So fans should soon have the opportunity to see Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross again.

Or rather Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, the names of the actors who embody the six New Yorkers.

"We don't play our characters"

This was what seemed to explain David Schwimmer, alias Ross, madly in love with Rachel in the series, in a British program.

"I will be myself, there is nothing written, nothing scripted. We do not play our characters: we are all ourselves, the real people," he said.

With a few extra wrinkles and pounds compared to the Ross we remembered, David Schwimmer says the special will still feature "a part, which I don't want to reveal, where we all read something."

Not sure that these statements are sufficient to satisfy the impatience of fans of the series, while the reunion was announced ... more than a year ago.

The project is therefore still very mysterious but it could look more like a conversation between the actors than a real episode of the series.

Release date not yet known

The release date is not yet known.

Viewers should be there, however.

When this special was announced, all the actors simultaneously posted a message on their social networks.
