Recently, a longan tree in a community in Nanning, Guangxi not only "foamed", it also exuded a very sour smell.
The trunk of this longan tree is about four meters high. Compared with the longan tree next to it that is already full of flowers, this "foaming" longan tree has very few blooms.
Residents in the community suspected that things were put up artificially, which might be harmful to people.
The reporter took the longan tree into a video and sent it to the staff of the Plant Protection Office of the Nanning City Green Project Management Center. According to his preliminary judgment, it is unlikely that the longan tree was caused by man-made damage, and it may have suffered from stem worms. Pests, coupled with the recent changes in the weather, caused these white bubbles to appear.
At present, timely pest control is needed to restore health to this longan tree.
