Within its new series of publications, and in conjunction with “Sharjah Heritage Days 18”, the Sharjah Heritage Institute launched the “Emirati Encyclopedia of Crafts, Professions and Traditional Industries” by Hassan Al Hurghada, and the book “The Yazra between Artistic Performance and Craftsmanship” by Dr. Hamad bin Saray and Abdullah Al-Hamour.

This came during a ceremony held within the activities of the "Cultural Café", during which the Director of the Content and Publishing Department at the Sharjah Heritage Institute, Dr. Mona Bounama, and two of the authors spoke, as Bu Amma confirmed that the two publications constitute a qualitative addition to the Emirati and Arab library, because of their scientific and heritage value. Important, given their documentation of aspects of the Emirati heritage related to crafts, professions and traditional industries, and the process of extracting water from wells through what is known in the Emirates as "yazra".

The Hurghada family talked about the circumstances of preparing the encyclopedia and its content, and stated that "the work on it included documenting 100 traditional crafts and industries, relying on oral sources, field research, and matching narratives from more than one source."

Al Hurghada pointed out that the environmental diversity in the Emirates was reflected in the diversity of crafts, and explained the extinction of most of them by the cessation of the inheritance of the craft within families, as was the case in the past, in addition to the absence of the need for some of them.
