The new

Voyage Explora Atacama & Uyuni

celebrates the "art of travel" and allows to discover remote regions, but culturally rich and with amazing landscapes such as the

Salar de Uyuni

in Bolivia and the

Atacama desert

in Chile.

Offered in both directions (from Uyuni to the Chilean Calama), the trip follows the Qhapaqnan section of the

ancient Inca Trail

and crosses the majestic Altiplano, dotted with

volcanoes

, colored lagoons, flamingos,

geysers

and monumental rock formations.

Hikes, bike rides, and excursions by private vehicle will take travelers to

remote villages

, even places so hidden that some locals may not know about them.

The contact with the communities and the discovery of their

ancestral cultures

will undoubtedly be a highlight of the trip, with excursions through ancient trails and opportunities to learn about the

cultivation of quinoa

and the way of life of the inhabitants of the Altiplano, as well as a culinary experience with Bolivian chef

ACCOMMODATION IN SHELTERS AND LODGES

Explora Atacama & Uyuni Journey

itinerary

will offer travelers three new Explora accommodations:

two refuges and a lodge,

located in remote areas of the

Andes

.

Designed by the

architect Max Núñez,

the two shelters

Ramaditas

and

Chituca

are unique spaces of prefabricated,

minimalist and light construction

, to interfere as little as possible with the environment.

Each shelter can accommodate up to eight people in four double bedrooms with bathrooms.

In addition, they are equipped with a

restaurant

serving Altiplano cuisine created with local ingredients and a

lounge

where you can enjoy local wines.

For its part, the new

Explora Uyuni,

has six rooms and can accommodate up to 12 travelers.
