In Hanover, several urgent requests against the night curfew have been granted.

There were "concerns as to whether the curfew order was proportionate," said the 15th Chamber of the Hanover Administrative Court on Friday.

The Hanover region had decreed that in the period from April 1 to April 12 inclusive, leaving the house between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. was only allowed for valid reasons.

The chamber emphasized that in view of the high number of corona infections, “the whether” of further measures to protect against infection was not in question, but only the choice of the means of night-time exit restrictions had been examined.

For the time being, the decision of the court only applies to the applicants.

These are now exempt from the nightly curfew.

The Hanover region can appeal the judgment to the Lower Saxony Higher Administrative Court in Lüneburg.
