Recently, the Swedish fashion brand H&M's claim to boycott China's Xinjiang cotton has caused concern in Hong Kong society.

On April 1, the "Alliance to Ask H&M to Apologize Publicly" held a press conference in China Hong Kong City, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, and submitted a joint signature and petition to H&M Hong Kong.

The convener of the alliance Huang Weilong said that the H&M brand made false and unreasonable accusations against Xinjiang, hurting the feelings of Chinese consumers, and called on Hong Kong citizens to stop buying and stop using its products until they apologized or withdrew quality control.

He said that H&M did not mention "Xinjiang" at all in its new statement issued on March 31, with a vague attitude and no regrets.

He pointed out that, so far, 44,723 Hong Kong citizens’ online signatures have been received, requesting H&M to apologize immediately.
