  • The video of a police intervention was broadcast Monday evening on social networks.

Police officers can be seen attacking several women, using tear gas, and pulling the hair of one of them.

  • The facts took place a little earlier in the day in Lille-Sud, place of the Wagner school, testifies the author of the video to

An administrative investigation was opened by the hierarchy of police officers.

A second investigation for “violence by a person holding public authority” was opened by the Lille prosecutor's office.

The scene took place in Lille-Sud, around 7:30 p.m. Monday evening.

Eight police officers seem to have a tense exchange with a group of mothers accompanied by their children.

One of the officials fires his tear gas canister at eye level with one of them, who moves away, rubbing her eyes.

A second protested, before being violently pulled by the hair by one of the members of the police.

The crowd gradually disperses when two of the police officers, in the midst of the cries of frightened children, apostrophes a man passing by on his bicycle: "Come and fight if you're a man!"

“What are they looking for through this type of behavior?

Shahin Hazamy writes on his Instagram account.

The young man, “street journalist” and anti-racist activist, was the first to relay this video on social networks.

For him, no doubt, this is an "umpteenth police attack".

FAKE OFF

"I started filming because I was surprised at the number of police vehicles present on the spot," testifies Inès, the author of the video then released by Shahin Hazamy on social networks.

“It happened at the Place de l'Ecole Wagner, near the police station, in Lille-Sud, at 19:39.

There must have been at least five or six cars, including three vans, silk-screened vehicles and unmarked vehicles.

I thought something big was brewing, ”she tells

20 Minutes.

From the apartment of her friend Maëva, with whom she spent the night, Inès, helpless and shocked, witnesses the intervention of the police.

“It was totally disproportionate, there must have been only a few children in the small park in front of the square, and two or three families enjoying the good weather with their little ones.

Here, we don't have terraces or balconies.

If we want to get some fresh air, it's in the street.

"

The violence of the police intervention pushes her to relay her video on social networks: "That the police enforce health measures, I agree, it is their job.

But that they provoke young people, that they pull the hair of mothers of families, and that they gas, I do not believe that it is part of their mission!

Before, I thought it only happened to other people, this kind of thing.

"In the Briquette district," it's like that every month, however, assures her friend Maëva.

“This time we just had the reflex to film.

"

Two investigations opened

Contacted by

20 Minutes

, the information and communication service of the national police (Sicop)

confirms the unfolding of the facts.

“The police intervened to put an end to a large group of more than six people who were outside during curfew hours, which constitutes two offenses.

"In view of the elements filmed, an administrative investigation was opened, specifies the Sicop, which indicates that the filmed intervention did not give rise to any arrest.

On the side of the Lille prosecutor's office, the prosecutor opened a "judicial inquiry into the head of violence by a person holding public authority".

It was entrusted to the departmental service of ethics, discipline, application and method of the national police.
