This Wednesday, the organization of the largest festival in Hauts-de-France announced the cancellation of the event, which was to be held next July, due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

In a press release, they stress having "taken the time to reflect", in view of the opportunity left by the government to festivals "to welcome 5,000 people, seated, distanced, in compliance with strict health rules".

In the end, the organizers decided, saying that these conditions "do not correspond" to the spirit of the festival and the expectations of its audience.

Note that the July 2019 edition brought together nearly 115,000 people over three days.

Next meeting in 2022

"If a few weeks ago, we were enthusiastic and optimistic", the "current situation as well as the procrastination of the government dashed our hopes of a Main Square in the Citadel as we all like it, in 2021", indicate -they.

The new appointment is now set for July 1, 2 and 3, 2022. We also know that the headliner will be Sting, who “confirms his return,” adds the Main Square.

The organization specifies that the tickets purchased for 2020 as well as those for 2021 will be valid for 2022.
