Nagasaki Prefecture has announced that two of the people infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed to be infected with the mutated virus.

This is the first time that infection with a mutant virus has been confirmed in Nagasaki Prefecture.

According to Nagasaki Prefecture, samples collected from infected persons in the prefecture of the new coronavirus were tested for mutant virus at the Prefectural Environmental Health Research Center in Omura City, and were tested on March 23 and 24.3 It turns out that a person is suspected of being infected with a mutated virus.



For this reason, the prefecture sent these three specimens to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases for detailed analysis, and as a result, two of the three were confirmed to be infected with the mutant virus that spreads in the United Kingdom.



On the other hand, for the remaining one, the amount of virus collected was small and detailed analysis could not be performed.



In Nagasaki Prefecture, 177 people whose samples were available from November 12th to March 30th last year were tested for mutant virus, but this is the first time that infection with the mutant virus has been confirmed.



The three had no history of traveling abroad and had no contact with anyone who had traveled abroad.



Nagasaki Prefecture has not been infected by a mutant virus and is not prevalent in the prefecture, but areas where local governments continue to request refraining from going out and requests to shorten business hours such as restaurants. We are calling for refraining from unnecessary and unurgent traffic.
