Chinanews.com, Lanzhou, March 31 (Zhang Jing) In the past few days, due to the screen of archaeological news at the Sanxingdui site, the Majiayao culture in Gansu has also received more extensive attention.

Based on this, a reporter from Chinanews.com interviewed a number of experts to explore the related issues one by one, especially for the "Majiayao culture in Gansu may be one of the origins of Sanxingdui". The experts said that there is similar worship and analyzed and interpreted them.

"Both have the worship of birds." Li Xinwei, a researcher at the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that even though it is thousands of years apart, the Majiayao culture has been inherited from the Sanxingdui culture and has become one of the sources of the ancient Shu culture.

At the same time, archaeological findings indicate that the Majiayao people were the earliest residents with traces of human activities in the Sichuan Basin. Therefore, the ancient Shu Sanxingdui culture may be formed by the southward migration of the Majiayao culture.

The Majiayao culture was about 5,000 years ago, and a large number of exquisite colored pottery was unearthed, with rich types and various decorations, and the patterns of string patterns, water ripples, and bird patterns were wonderfully presented.

In the early 1920s, the Swedish scholar Anderson discovered and named the Majiayao site in Majiayao Village, Lintao County, Dingxi City, Gansu Province. It is one of the sources of Qijia culture, including Majiayao, Banshan, Machang, etc. .

Lintao County officials have previously disclosed that since 2014, the Northwest Workstation of the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences has conducted archaeological excavations on the Majiayao site four times. The exploration area has been expanded to more than 1,600 square meters, and more than 400,000 pieces of pottery, pottery, Stone tools, bone tools, animal remains, as well as 13 houses of various sizes, 72 ash pits, and 7 ash ditch.

Regarding the above issues, Lang Shude, a researcher at the Gansu Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, said that the relationship between the two is indirect. The reason is that the jade and some pottery unearthed at the Sanxingdui site are more similar to the Qi family culture. In other words, the ancient Shu civilization One of the important cultural factors comes from the Northwest region.

Lang Shude said that Northwest cultures such as Majiayao culture and Qijia culture played a certain role in promoting the emergence of Sanxingdui culture, but it was not the only influencing factor, because it was also influenced by the prehistoric culture of the Yellow River and the Yangtze River. It played a very important role in the formation of Chinese civilization. It can be seen that the Sanxingdui civilization was born in the local area, not the "foreign civilization" as the outside world called it.

"In fact, as early as 2019, industry insiders have organized cultural exchange activities between Majiayao and Sanxingdui." Wang Haidong, president of the Lanzhou Majiayao Cultural Research Association, told reporters that Majiayao culture is widely distributed in the upper reaches of the Yellow River and Within Gansu and Qinghai.

According to the latest archaeological findings, painted pottery with Majiayao characteristics was found at the Yingpanshan site in Sichuan, which shows that Majiayao painted pottery has entered the lives of ancient Shu people and has become an important living utensil.

"The three-legged 鬲 is a good example. Whether it is from Majiayao people or from ancient Shu people, they use it as cooking utensils, and they have different models and sizes of 鬲." Wang Haidong also said that some patterns on the Sanxingdui mask are similar to those in the early days. The bottleneck lines of Majiayao pottery also have similarities, indicating that the behaviors and activities of the ancient ancestors have enabled a good exchange and fusion of the northern and southern cultures separated by thousands of years.
