The reaction of the prosecution was not long in coming.

The day after the wild party, which took place Tuesday evening on the Saône quays in Lyon, the public prosecutor said he had opened an investigation for "endangering the lives of others" and "non-compliance health measures ”.

An hour before the curfew, nearly 300 people (mainly young people) suddenly found themselves on the banks of the Saône to drink to music and dance.

Without wearing masks either.

And under the incredulous eye of passers-by who did not fail to be indignant on social networks.

The investigation was entrusted to the DDSP du Rhône, departmental directorate of public security.

Participants called to be tested

"It is now a question of identifying the organizers of the party with the use in particular of video surveillance", specifies the prosecution, seized by the prefect of the Rhône within the framework of article 40 of the Code of criminal procedure.

“Irresponsible and unacceptable rally on the docks.

Given the proximity of the Saône and the danger that an intervention would have created, the prefect asked the police not to intervene, ”the prefecture tweeted early Tuesday evening a few hours after the fact.

“I urge the people who took part in this gathering to be tested and to isolate themselves.

There were certainly positive people in this crowd and we can see that no one had a mask, ”said Marlène Schiappa, Minister in charge of Citizenship, on Wednesday.

She asked them in this sense "to be responsible".
