Efforts have begun to ripen sake brewed by a sake brewing company in Shiroishi City, Miyagi Prefecture, for a long time at the dam facility in the neighboring Shichikashuku Town.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the construction of the Shichikashuku Dam, Shichikashuku Town and others planned this to convey the charm of sake brewed using local underground water, and on the 30th, a sake brewing company in Shiroishi City Work was carried out to bring 550 bottles of sake that had been brewed to the 86-meter underground part of the facility at Shichikashuku Dam.



According to the sake brewing company, the temperature inside the dam facility is kept around 10 degrees Celsius throughout the year, and it is suitable for aging sake. It means that it will be finished.



The sake brought in will be aged for up to 7 years from 7 in Shichikashuku, so 77 bottles will be taken out every April from next year and sold at local roadside stations.



Koichi Ozeki, the mayor of Shichikashuku Town, said, "We planned to make local sake familiar to many people. We hope that it will be well matured and produce mellow and deep sake."
