Journalist Ruth Elkrief, who left BFMTV last month, will join competing channel LCI, a year before the presidential election, her deputy director Fabien Namias announced on Wednesday in an interview with Le Figaro.

After 15 years within BFMTV, this journalist who had been a pillar of the Altice group's news channel since its creation, had "decided to turn the page", according to the direction of the media, an announcement which had surprised the media sphere .

It "will participate, from May 1, in the coverage of regional - if they take place -, and will focus more broadly on the major issues of the country," said Fabien Namias, before taking the reins, at the start of the school year.
