<Reporter> In the

worst yellow sand that came this spring, the entire city center turned earthy.

Yellow sand originated from Mongolia and China came through the northwest wind.

As the concentration soared to around 20 times normal, a yellow dust warning was even issued.

The yellow dust warning is issued when the concentration of fine dust is expected to exceed 800㎍/㎥.

Nationally, it has been 5 years since 2016, and in Seoul, the warning has been issued 6 years since 2015.

Today (29th), the concentration of fine dust in Seoul once recorded 783㎍/㎥, and in Gwangju, it soared to 1016㎍/㎥ and in Heuksan Island to 1200㎍/㎥.

Although the amount of origin was less than the previous yellow sand, high concentration of yellow sand appeared on the ground in Korea due to a strong downward current.

Although the concentration is getting lower and lower, the situation is still serious in some of the west coast and southern regions.

As of 4 p.m., the concentration of yellow dust in Seoul has decreased to 246㎍/㎥, but there is still strong yellow dust, such as 1081㎍/㎥ in Jeju Island and 1122㎍/㎥ in Gunsan.

[Jin-Gyu Woo/Meteorological Office Forecasting Analyst: During the period when the yellow dust is maintained, the flow of the barometer around Korea will be somewhat delayed, so it will take some time to escape to the east…

.] The

Meteorological Administration predicted that there are no additional sources in Mongolia and China, but the concentration of fine dust will remain at a poor level until tomorrow as yellow dust remains.
